Backstory (Short Version):
Nikolay was born on May 9, 1900, in the Russian Empire. His father was a revolutionary worker who was killed in the Bloody Sunday incident when Nikolay was just five. Raised by his mother alone, he honored his father’s last wish by joining Tsar Nicholas II’s army and secretly acted as a spy for revolutionary worker groups. His espionage efforts played a role during the formation of the Soviet Union.

During this time, to fulfill his mother's wishes, he agreed to marry Vienna Myers, an Afro-Russian tailor. At the time, Killmer was 30 and Vienna 20. They had twins named Stephan and Tatyana the same year.

Towards the end of WWII, he was captured by Danny, the son of his best friend Elias, and died from prolonged torture on Victory Day.

After death, he ascended to Heaven where he learned that he had once saved the life of Abelard—a high-ranking angel disguised as a Nazi officer—choosing to take him prisoner instead of torturing him, unknowingly sparing his life. Though he was punished by his superiors for this “disappearance,” he was deeply relieved to know the truth.

For his kindness and military expertise, he was declared a Marshal Angel and assigned to train Adam.

To make use of his free time, he also took on the long-abandoned role of archivist—a duty that had been neglected for nearly a millennium.

Special Abilities:

Skill Set:

Weapons:

Weaknesses/Drawbacks:

Personality:
Appears grumpy, cold, and serious. His high rank, reserved nature, and violent temper often make others feel intimidated, though this suits him fine. He’s aware of the image he projects and uses it deliberately.

With friends, however, he becomes emotionally intense, overprotective, and teasing. He has difficulty managing emotions and often denies having them. He is awkward in both romantic and platonic relationships and struggles to express affection.

His rage is destructive—both physically and verbally. Though he regrets things afterward, he rarely admits to it.

He’s very eager to kill and, due to having done little else in life, unsure what else he’s good at. Triggers that recall his death freeze him on the spot.

Romantic Relationships:

Family:

Friends:

Elias Georgy – Best Friend
Originally from opposing sides (Elias a revolutionary, Killmer a Tsar’s soldier), they became close allies and lifelong friends. Despite Elias’ son Dan killing Killmer, Elias found Killmer’s body on Victory Day. Dan killed both Elias and himself shortly after. In Heaven, Killmer and Elias were overjoyed to reunite.

Elias understands Killmer better than anyone—he reads his moods, gives him space, and never judges him. Killmer trusts Elias unconditionally and is his truest self around him. Their closeness often makes others think they’re a couple, which they don’t bother correcting. They even changed their hair colors in homage to each other.

Adam – Trainee, Close Friend, and Sexual Partner
They met before Killmer was made Marshal. Adam enjoys destruction, which makes Killmer’s job as his mentor strangely easy. Adam gifted him the earth-controlling powers and war hammer, telling him to have fun with it. Their bond deepened through casual intimacy, especially after Killmer accepted being gay.

Leonie “Leo” – Librarian Friend, Like a Son
Though initially annoyed by him, Killmer grew fond of Leo’s dedication in organizing the long-forgotten archives. Leo is cheerful, helpful, and unafraid of Killmer’s grumpiness. He even assists Killmer in repairing his relationship with his real son, Stephan.

Abelard – High-Ranking Angel He Spared on Earth
Killmer chose mercy over torture when interrogating Abelard, earning unexpected reward in Heaven by being named Marshal. He still feels peace knowing he made the right call.

Lute – Close Friend
Often tagging along with Adam and Killmer. Killmer enjoys teasing him with suggestive remarks, which fluster Lute to no end. Still, Lute’s continued presence means the world to him.

Maral Abay-Georgy – Elias’ Wife in Heaven
She used to call Killmer “Red,” a nickname that triggered memories of Dan’s torture. Once Killmer opened up, Maral apologized in tears. The two are now on better terms.

Cody and Bodil Georgy – Elias’ Younger Kids
Raised apart from Dan, they grew up during tough times. Killmer relates more to Bodil, while Cody was usually closer to Stephan. He sees them both as beloved nieces/nephews.

Leroy Kingsley – Coworker, Sabine’s Husband
One of the few souls who visits the archives. After learning both his sons were in Hell, he quietly accepted it, suspecting it all along. He now helps Killmer organize the messy records.

Enemies:

Danny “Dan” Georgy – His Killer, Elias’ Son
Dan captured, tortured, and ultimately killed Killmer. Afterward, he murdered his own father and committed suicide. He’s now in Hell, as is Killmer’s daughter Tatyana—Dan’s current lover. Killmer longs to confront him again, but access is restricted.

Others:

Amaranta Conte – Marx’s Mother
A blind elderly woman who smacks Killmer with a stick whenever she hears of his romantic antics with her son. He refers to her as “mother-in-law” when she’s not around.

Azrael – Acquaintance
Azrael used to appear to Killmer during his torture, which Killmer thought was a hallucination. After learning Azrael had been ordered to watch over him, Killmer avoids him at all costs—too many haunting memories.

Renata – Game Developer & Blogger
Crosses paths with Killmer in the library or Marx’s bakery. She finds his life incredibly inspiring for game narratives and often asks him questions.

Alina Cormac – Cherub Seen as a Daughter by Marx
Killmer barely knows her. She was exiled from Heaven recently.

Araki Akinori-Conte & Ren Saito-Conte – Marx’s Adopted Children
One demi-boy and one agender child who died in a mysterious boarding school fire. Very shy. Killmer is careful not to frighten them.

Sabine Rousseau-Kingsley – Friend of Marx, Leroy’s Wife
Always cheerful. A regular at Marx’s bakery and Amaranta’s close friend.

Emery – “God’s Eye”
A Winner who manages all divine surveillance technology. Killmer occasionally notices them around but has never caught them in the act.
